Public Health Jobs in Ethiopia

Background of the Organisation

JSI is a nonprofit organization focused on public health in the United States that aims to provide top-notch technical and managerial support programs globally. Over more than 25 years, JSI has implemented more than 60 projects across Ethiopia, striving to improve health outcomes in every area. In the past, JSI has overseen a sizable portfolio of projects with an emphasis on supply chain management, digital health, health information systems (HIS), community health programs, public health emergency responses, social and behavior change, and the quality and equity of access to RMNCAH services.

Summary of Activities

Through enhanced management and accountability for quality service delivery, the restoration of services in health facilities in conflict-affected areas, and improved facility preparedness to provide quality reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) services, USAID Quality Healthcare Activity (QHA) seeks to improve health outcomes. Ethiopia’s government will be able to create public and private healthcare systems that are robust, responsive, and long-lasting with the aid of QHA’s concepts and implementation techniques. In some districts and woredas, QHA will encompass referral health centers as well as urban and peri-urban primary health care units (PHCU). For a period of five years (May 01, 2023 – April 30, 2028), JSI, in partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), MSI Reproductive Choices (MSI), Project HOPE, and Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA), will carry out the Activity with financial assistance from USAID.
