Observation and Documentation

Works closely with sector technical officers to use appropriate monitoring and reporting tools and methodologies as required by respective stakeholders in a participatory manner for all projects and programs, including AMR, SAR, and other reports using set performance indicators, regardless of funding sources. For each project, s/he keeps meticulous plans of activity and budget implementation tracking systems to monitor activities and budget utilization.

Programs and Projects Assessment

Facilitates all project and program evaluations within the AP operational area under the direction of the AP manager by coordinating with the MEAL Department, Support Service Division (SSD) at NO, the relevant project manager, and the CPO, regardless of the industry or funding sources.
As needed, s/he makes sure that all relevant parties, such as the woreda government offices, are properly coordinating and that the targeted local communities are participating.
Make sure that assessment reports are distributed to relevant operational area stakeholders for future reference and learning.

Responsibility

Facilitates the implementation of social and program accountability frameworks and the creation of feedback mechanisms from beneficiary communities in AP, under the direction of the AP manager.

Keep track of lessons learned and disseminate promising and best practices within the AP and the entire organization.
Evaluations and surveys

Utilizing approved instruments and approaches, the AP manager and relevant NO, RO, or CPO units can provide advice as they enable surveys and evaluations by established standards and guidelines.

Develops sample frames, engages in community mobilization, hires, and trains enumerators, and oversees the procedures for actual data collection and verification.

Internalises standard tools and survey and assessment procedures designed for the research to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Takes part in tool field testing to verify that the tools apply to the local region and that the questionnaires are relevant to produce the necessary data accurately.

Making connections and working with partners

Along with sectoral project officers, s/he assists the AP manager in networking and collaborating with partners at the woreda and community levels.
He or she will determine who the main information-sharing users are and lead thorough scoping for talks with important woreda stakeholders.
To promote collaboration, ease of communication, and a common understanding amongst all relevant parties in the woreda, s/he reviews important results from monitoring, assessment, and other survey reports.

Necessary Work Experience

  • Three years in a related field
  • NGO or a field involved in the development
  • Desired Expertise and Credentials

abilities in networking, presenting, communicating, and collaborating; Capability to gather and analyze data with computer programs such as Epi-info, SPSS, MS Word, MS Access, and MS Excel;

• Experience in designing, monitoring, and evaluating participatory programs and projects;

Requirements for Travel and/or Work Environment

The job necessitates the capacity and willingness to travel 20% of the time domestically and 20% on call.
